“God has called you to serve in His vineyard to Teach, Govern and Sanctify His people” was the opening words of Most Rev. Gabriel Justice Yaw Anokye, the Archbishop of Kumasi Archdioces. This year, 2018, the Archbishop ordained three Deacons into the Holy Priesthood. This took place at the forecourt of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, South Suntreso,14th July 2018.
The Dean of the host Deanery (South Suntreso), Very Rev. Fr. Peter Amoateng gave the welcome address at around 9:15am after which the Archbishop continued with the Celebration of the day. With over eighty Priests and Religious on the Sanctuary, the whole atmosphere was charged for the heavenly liturgy.
Those who were ordained into the Holy Priesthood are;
Rev. Fr. Louis Fosu-Asare, from St. Martine De Porres Parish, Atonso Agogo,
Rev. Fr. Augustine Barimah Adjen from St. Anthony Parish, Bremang,
Rev. Fr. Louis Asamoah from St. Michael Parish, Chirapatre.
The entire celebration was so colourful that everyone left the Ordination grounds with much blessings and smiles on their faces after spending about four and a half hours there. By the close of the celebration, there were about nine hundred and twenty people at the ceremony ground.
As regards the first postings, Fr. Fosu-Asare was assigned to work at Appeadu, St. Paul’s Parish,
Fr. Barimah was assigned to work at Offinso New town, Holy Rosary Parish and
Fr. Asamoah was also assigned to work at Kuffour Camp, St. Matthew’s Parish.
