Kumasi Catholic Archdiocese welcomes you.
May this month of November be a breakthrough period for you and your family...
The Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi, in her Strategic Plan machinery has cut sod to begin the construction works to rebrand Christian Village Guest House into a 4-Star Hotel and Christ The Teacher College of Education into an ultra-modern Marine University. The Archdiocese has entered into a BOT (Build Operate and Transfer) agreement with the Zionist Construction Limited to fund the construction of both facilities.
The Christian Village Guest House was built in 1975 when Most Rev. Peter K. Sarpong, Archbishop Emeritus, was only about 5 years a Bishop. For over 40 years, we have all come to experience a cottage Guest House into a modern hotel (4 – Star) with contemporary facilities and accessories such as internet connectivity, café, air conditioned rooms, gymnasium, swimming pool, shuttle bus systems, travel agency, tourist attractions, banking, convenient store, salon, barber shop and other services.
On the other hand, Christ the Teacher College of Education (CTCE) was also opened for fresh students in the year 2014. Our vision was to become a University College within four years. We give thanks to God and the Zionist Construction Company Limited who has helped us to see the beginnings of the light at the end of the tunnel. It is our hope that within two to three years, our facilities shall be ready to receive students for Medicine, Law and other programmes.
Breaking ground for the establishment of Christ the Teacher University College (CTUC) at Sokwai- has been a dream come true. Congratulations to the Most Rev. Gabriel J. Anokye, Metropolitan Catholic Archbishop of Kumasi, his predecessors, Ing. Gilbert Nud Vonvorseh, and all who have contributed to make this day come to reality, not to mention the Team of Consultants, headed by Mr. Emmanuel Opoku Awuah.
When completed, this project would comprise of well furnished offices in a classic administrative block, over four unite blocks of story building Lecture Theaters, a swimming pool, a high standard auditorium, a well-equipped Teaching Practice Hospital, a classic athletic sports stadium and many more.
The sod cutting was attended by several dignitaries including the Otumfo] Ashantihene who was been represented by the chief of Amakom, the chief of Mfensi and his entourage, the Deputy Regional Minister Mama Patricia, the Divisional District of Police of both Sofoline and Abuakwa with a hand full of security men and women, a well-represented cross section of Priests including the Archbishop Gabriel J.Y. Anokye. The Executive Chairman of the Zionist Construction Limited, Ing. Gilbert Nud VonVorsh expressed his high hopes to complete the work within the postulated years.
