Posted by Kumasi Archdiocese (admin) on Jul 31 2017 |
Introduction
The 2017 Priestly Ordination significantly took place at Parkoso, St. Gregory the Great Major Seminary which falls under the Asawase Deanery. The most outstanding factor that makes this Ordination stands out among others is the fact that the Priestly candidates are the pioneers of the Seminary. This Provincial Major Seminary was established and inaugurated in September 2009 with forty-nine (49) Seminarians from the Province. Owing to some reasons, thirty-six (36) of the total number would be ordained into the Catholic Priesthood this year,2017.
Background
Through the colossal instrumentality of Archbishop Emeritus Peter Kwesi Sarpong, the seed of this Provincial Major Seminary was planted. The powerful hands of the Other Bishops in Kumasi Province were also behind him.
