About two thousand people in one spirit and mind thronged the Holy Spirit Cathedral Saturday March 4, 2017 to witness the consecration ceremony of Ghana to the sacred heart of Jesus by the Catholic Church. The celebration was to solemnly commit Ghana, her leaders, people and her entire wellbeing to the unfathomable love of Jesus Christ who himself is God’s greatest gift of love to mankind.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi organizes the year 2017 version of the Presbyteral Meeting from Sunday, January 23, to Friday 27 January 2017. This is a yearly and essential meeting for all Catholic Priests in the Archdiocese.

We, the members of the National Union of Ghana Catholic Diocesan Priests’ Associations (NUGDPA), having met for our 26^th National/14^th Biennal Congress at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, from Monday, 2^nd    to Friday, 6^th    January, 2017, on the occasion of our 40^th Anniversary,  and having deliberated on the theme, “NUGDPA @ 40: THE JOYS AND CHALLENGES OF THE PRIESTHOOD”, reaffirm that:

In this Year of MERCY, the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi had ordained eight (8) Deacons. This Diaconate ordination took place at the St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica on the 17^th December, 2016. They are the pioneers of the Provincial Major Seminary envisaged by the Local Ordinaries some years back. We are most grateful to God for the gifts of St. Gregory Provincial Major Seminary (Parkoso) and the first fruits of eight deacons for the Kumasi Archdiocese.
