 Introduction

This report, from the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi, Kumasi-Ghana, West Africa is on how the Archdiocese celebrated the Holy Year of Mercy declared by Pope Francis. The Year of Mercy began on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 when Pope Francis opened the Holy Door in St. Peter’s Basilica, symbolizing that a Jubilee is underway.

PIONEERS OF ST. GREGORY SEMINARY ORDAINED DEACONS

In this Year of MERCY, the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi had ordained eight (8) Deacons. This Diaconate ordination took place at the St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica on the 17th December, 2016. They are the pioneers of the Provincial Major Seminary envisaged by the Local Ordinaries some years back. We are most grateful to God for the gifts of St. Gregory Provincial Major Seminary (Parkoso) and the first fruits of eight deacons for the Kumasi Archdiocese.
